IP Rating Guide 2025 — What IP67 and IP68 Actually Mean
IP67 means dust-proof + water-resistant to 1 meter for 30 minutes. IP68 means dust-proof + water-resistant to 1.5-6 meters (varies by manufacturer's disclosed depth). None of this covers salt water or chlorinated pools — which voids warranties on all brands. Samsung Galaxy A55 at IP67 and Pixel 9a at IP67 are the best mid-range water-resistant options. Never assume IP = pool-safe.
